Innovative Repair Product Offers Multi-Threat Security Solution

Description: Description: ProtectiFlex offers an innovative product with a proprietary cementitious mix design that uses recycled material as the aggregate, making it 30% lighter than standard concrete, which equates to less gravity loads and induced lateral forces, reducing building framing and foundation costs. This innovative product absorbs and dissipates large amounts of energy while maintaining its structural integrity and is installed like traditional concrete or masonry products, so specialty training and equipment is not required. The product is available as precast panels, modular form, cast-in-place, masonry blocks or as a sprayed-on shotcrete application. ProtectiFlex has been successfully tested against blast, ballistic and fire threats, and has pending testing against seismic threats and hurricane/ high wind-borne debris.
This demonstration will highlight the various product forms that can be integrated in a retrofit solution for extreme loading, that the product utilizes existing retrofit construction implementation practices and provides a lighter-weight retrofit solution when compared to retrofits that utilize standard or high-strength concrete solutions, and has superior multi-threat mitigation performance when compared with other concrete retrofit mitigation solutions for extreme loading events.
Objectives:
Address multiple man-made (intentional or accidental) and natural hazards in a single product retrofit solution
Present a lighter-weight retrofit solution for extreme loading when compared to standard-based or high strength- based concrete retrofit solutions
Utilize sustainable products that have recycled content and long lifespans
Reduce overall retrofit costs and expedite construction schedules by utilizing best practices
