PRODUCT FORMS

All ProtectiFlex product forms use our proprietary technology and comprise our key recycled non-biodegradable material together with a selected reinforcement material in a cementitious mix. It is available in three forms: composite, precast and masonry.

Precast

ProtectiFlex has successfully developed a precast form which resembles typical precast concrete panels. This technology can be cast in a wide range of architectural finishes, both for new construction and retrofit applications. The precast application of this technology allows the product to be utilized for extreme loading protection either:

  • when integrated compositely with standard concrete

  • as an additional non-structural/sacrificial layer added to an insulated precast concrete profile

  • as a stand-alone monolithic precast system.

These various precast layouts can be easily integrated within a structural steel or concrete building framing or façade system to meet blast, ballistic and/or forced entry loading requirements in wall or panel construction.

ProtectiFlex precast material has a 30% reduction in density to traditional concrete and in a monolithic precast form provides around twice the ballistic protection for a given thickness for higher UL ballistic ratings.

ProtectiFlex has tasked Stone-OBL to conduct blast and ballistic testing on the precast form of the proprietary technology.  Click to view ProtectiFlex precast blast, ballistic and fire test details.

Composite/Modular

ProtectiFlex has successfully developed composite products comprising a stud wall ProtectiFlex panel system together with ongoing development of a sandwich panel using our proprietary technology. These composite panel systems as a finished product resemble typical precast concrete panels. The panels can be cast in a wide range of architectural finishes, both for new construction and retrofit applications.

ProtectiFlex composite stud wall panel modular system provides 45% weight reduction compared with reinforced concrete and compared with fully grouted reinforced masonry for an equivalent blast and ballistic rating performance.

The composite stud wall panel application of this technology provides extreme loading protection easily integrated as a façade system within a structural steel or concrete building framing system to meet blast, ballistic and/or forced entry loading requirements. The ProtectiFlex composite stud wall panel application can also be assembled as walls and roofing for modular unit assemblies, such as guard booths, trailers, and other modular configurations to resist design blast, ballistic, and/or forced entry loadings.

ProtectiFlex tasked Stone-OBL with the blast and ballistic testing of the ProtectiFlex composite stud wall panel system. Click to view ProtectiFlex composite blast test details.

Masonry Block

ProtectiFlex masonry has been developed into a finished product which resembles typical concrete masonry blocks. It has undergone a rigorous testing regime and its performance consistently outstrips its competitors.  It is the foremost one-stop masonry solution against blast and ballistic threat.

This technology can be made in a wide range of architectural finishes, both for new construction and retrofit applications.

The masonry blockwork application of this technology allows the product to be utilized for extreme loading protection.  ProtectiFlex masonry exceeds the blast capacity of much heavier blocks providing comparable levels of protection with demonstrated additional reserves of capacity.

ProtectiFlex masonry can be used in a range of scenarios from a safe room to protect critical assets and personnel or as a full outer leaf of a building for an embassy or government facility. It can be easily integrated within a structural steel or concrete building framing or façade system to meet blast, ballistic, and/or forced entry loading requirements for wall or panel construction.
